Black Hawk

From Walsenburg go south on the I-25 to exit 42 - Rouse Road. Turn west and then immediately south. The road will turn west again and cross the railroad tracks. Go through the town of Pryor on CR 310 and then follow CR 312 south for 2.5 miles, stay straight ahead past the entry feature at Blackhawk Ranch approximately one-half mile to parking lot. Or, stay on CR 310 and go west to north side of property

From Gardner, go 1 mile west on Highway 69, turn north on USFS Rd. 634 and go 6 miles to USFS Rd. 635 (Black Mountain Road), go west 1/2 mile to access markers.

From Gardner, go southwest on CR 560 (Arco Road), 7 miles to property. CR 560 traverses tract from northwest corner to south side.

From Walsenburg take CR 330 (Ideal Road) south for 11 miles. CR 330 traverses northeast quarter of Section 31 and south half of Section 36. CR 310 enters northeast quarter of Section 31 on east side.

South Middle Creek

From La Veta go 1/2 mile south on Highway 12 to Indian Creek Road (USFS Road 410), then go west 11 miles. USFS Rd. 410 enters property on south side near southwest corner. Timber activity may be present.

Blue Spring

From Gardner go west on Highway 69 for 1 mile to Forest Service Road 634. Turn north on FSR 634 and travel 13 miles to the property.

From Walsenburg travel 15 miles northwest on Highway 69 to Badito Junction. From Badito Junction take CR 520 south for 6 miles to Majors Ranch entrance. Then travel west 1.25 miles on CR 520.1 to southeast corner of property. CR 520.1 enters property at southeast corner and travels 3 miles west across property to west boundary.

From Gardner go 13 miles west on CR 580

FISHING: coldwater stream
RECREATION: Hiking, camping, wildlife observation
FACILITIES: Rest rooms, picnic tables

This is a beautiful area in the aspens with the Huerfano River flowing through the middle. Access is pretty good, the fishing looks excellent.
