National Wildlife Refuges of Nevada

Nevada has several National Wildlife Refuges, all administered by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. The Desert NWR, at 1,615,000 acres, is the largest National Wildlife Refuge in the 48 contiguous states. Ash Meadows NWR is 23,000 acres of rare and beautiful desert oases in the Amargosa Valley, at the edge of Death Valley. Anaho Island NWR is an uninhabited island in Pyramid Lake that a large colony of nesting American White Pelicans have simply fallen in love with.
