Otero County is in the Arkansas River Valley in southeastern Colorado. Rocky Ford calls itself the "Melon Capitol of the World." Named for Miguel Antonio Otero, one of the founders of La Junta, Otero County contains 1,263 square miles of land and 7 square miles of water. The county seat is La Junta. |
