Wyoming's National Wildlife Refuges mostly come under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Many of them are operated purely to preserve natural landscapes/habitats to support populations of birds, fish and other wildlife. Unusual but some of the National Wildlife Refuges in Wyoming allow no public access - because those specific refuges exist primarily to support small populations of threatened and/or endangered species.
