Swan Valley is located on US Highway 26 at the junction with Idaho Highway 31 (the Teton Scenic Byway), just downstream from Palisades Reservoir. The South Fork of the Snake River in this area is one of the world's premier tail water dry-fly fisheries. The Big Hole Mountains are to the north, the Palisades Range to the east and the Caribou Mountains to the south. This is premier sports and adventure countryside. To do any significant shopping, most folks make the drive to either Jackson, Wyoming or Idaho Falls.
