12 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon, Solitude Mountain Resort is far from the crowds at other resorts. With the unrivaled beauty and 500" of snow, you're not going to miss anything... except maybe the lift lines... Solitude Mountain used to be a locals-only day ski area but, after 50 years of great skiing, the base area has become a charming, European-style pedestrian village with a first-class Bavarian style hotel and numerous 1-3 bedroom condos and vacation home rentals scattered around. This resort is designed to pamper and relax, with ski in/ski out convenience, an attentive staff, an on-site spa and several gourmet restaurants.

In addition to the 64 named runs, Solitude Mountain offers 3 wide-open bowls of world-class powder. There's also steep chutes, gladed runs through the trees and open gentle cruising boulevards. Full service equipment rental and tune-up shops are located in the Powderhorn Building at Solitude Village and in the lower level of the Moonbeam Lodge at Moonbeam Base. Of all the ski resorts in the Wasatch Mountains, Solitude has the highest percentage of beginner and intermediate slope ratings.
