A survey of 2006 Ski Magazine readers ranked Powder Mountain Resort #1 for snow quality among North American resorts. Powder Mountain is graced by pure, fallen-from-the-sky Utah powder (and lots of it) on its three mountains of gold medal terrain and steep slopes. There's also two excellent terrain parks and the Hidden Lake Halfpipe: 400 feet long, 40 feet wide and 8 to 12 feet tall. Powder Mountain also offers the Lightning Ridge Snowcat: $12 for a single ride to the top of 700 acres of pristine powder with a 2,100' vertical drop (expert only, no trail grooming, no skiing alone, subject to closure due to avalanche or weather). There is also the Snowcat Powder Safari: 1,000 acres of exclusive glades, chutes and bowls, 10 guests/2 guides per trip, by reservation only, $300 per person.

Powder Mountain Resort operates equipment rental/repair shops in the Resort Center and downstairs in the Sundown Lodge. Room and condo rentals are available slopeside (and 4WD is recommended in season for reaching slopeside properties).

Powder Mountain Resort is located 19 miles northeast of Ogden and 55 miles north of Salt Lake International Airport.
