From La Jara go 14 miles west on Cty. Rd. 15, turn left onto dirt road at Centro, then go 7 miles on La Jara Reservoir Road to property.

Pinon Hills

North side of property: from Manassa drive 3.6 miles east on Hwy. 142 to BLM Rd. 5006 and go southeast about 3 miles. The property is directly south of the road.
South side of property: From Manassa drive 2 miles east on Hwy. 142, turn south on Cty. Rd. 20 for 2 miles. Turn east on Cty. Rd.M for 1 mile to Cty. Rd. 21. Turn south about 2.5 miles to BLM road (unnumbered), then east up the main draw to end of road, about 6 miles.
ACRES: 640
OPEN: Sept. 1 - Feb. 28 for hunting only. Year-round for watching wildlife only.

Alamaditas Mesa

Route #1: From Antonito go 11 miles west on Hwy. 17 to Forest Service Rd. or Fox Creek Rd. Travel northwest on Fox Creek Road for 5 miles to marker designating route to property. Follow 1/4 mile markers across USFS land to west edge of property. NOTE: Access to this property is by foot or horseback only across country from Fox Creek Rd. to the state property.
Route #2: From La Jara State Trust Land go south of La Jara Reservoir on 4WD road to Fox Creek. From Fox Creek, by foot or horseback only, travel 1.5 miles south to south boundary to FS land. Go 3 miles east on FS land and cross both Fox Creek and Fox Creek Trail. Go 1 mile to west boundary of property.

HUNTING: Elk, deer, antelope, cottontail, grouse, coyote

From south side of Antonitoat Hwys. 285 and 17, travel 7 miles west on Hwy. 17 to a 2-track trail on north side of Hwy. 17 by an old cemetary. Travel north and west on 2-track trail along north side of Los Mogotes Peak. Go past peak 5 miles through BLM property to east property boundary.

From Antonito go 15 miles west on Hwy. 17 to Conejos Ranch. Fishing easements are intermittent for next 16 miles and are signed.

RESTRICTIONS: Camping is prohibited, public access prohibited except for fishing.

Conejos River
On Bear Creek subdivision, HEBO Corp. properties and the Douglas properties from Aspen Glade campground upstream 4 miles to Menkhaven, public use prohibited except for fly fishing:
  • Artificial flies only
  • Bag and possession limit for trout is 2 fish, 16 inches or longer.
From saddle Creek bridge downstream to and including the Hamilton property at the Conejos River and the South Fork of the Conejos River. Waters on Hamilton property subject to these regulations:
  • Artificial flies and lures only
  • Bag and possession limit for trout is 2 fish, 16 inches or longer.
From the Menkhaven Ranch downstream to Aspen Glade (USFS) campground - WILD TROUT WATER
Conejos River Lake Fork
From headwaters including Big Lake, downstream to Rock Lake including Rock Lake and the outlet - WILD TROUT WATER:
  • Artificial flies and lures only.
  • Cutthroat must be returned to the water immediately.
