Crested Butte Mountain Resort offers some of the best extreme skiing in the world. This mountain is home to "Colorado's Best Corduroy" and "Dreampipe," the superpipe with incredible views. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is also home to the SAAB US Extreme Freeskiing and US Extreme Boarderfest Championships, the US Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships, a Randonnee Rally, the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse and Colorado's first X Games.

At the top of Forest Queen is the DC Superpipe: 55-feet wide, 18-feet high, 400-feet long and sloped at 17°. The DC Canaan Terrain Park is located under the Parachute lift and offers intermediate and advanced riders jumps of various sizes, shapes and sequences plus several rail features. The Keystone Jib Park is set up for intermediate action with lots of sliders and rails. Located off the Painter Boy lift is the Painter Boy Terrain Park: open to skiers, snowboarders and skaters with beginner features that include tabletops, rails, rolls and a mini-halfpipe. At the base of the Red Lady Express is a tubing hill that is even lit for nighttime use.

2008 is a banner year for snow at Mt. Crested Butte: 300"+ has fallen by mid-February.
