Elk Ridge Ski Area and Outdoor Recreation

Elk Ridge Ski and Outdoor Recreation area used to be known as the Williams Ski Area (between Williams and Flagstaff). It's kind of a throwback to the old local ski areas of New England: small, average terrain, nothing for either the true beginner or the true expert, but on the other hand, no crowds, no stress, no headaches, and affordable skiing on a good mix of open and tree runs.

The ski area was purchased by the Fountain Outdoor Recreation Corporation, a women-owned small business "dedicated to providing fun and adventure safely and courteously" back in 2005. They opened for tubing only in late 2007 and hope to offer snowboarding, skiing and tubing in the 2008-2009 snow season. In the future, they intend to offer guided tours, horseback riding and Grand Canyon adventure packages.
