River's Edge Bed & Breakfast at Dodgeton Creek Inn is open year round with deluxe accommodations that receive first class attention daily. Your stay includes a varying gourmet breakfast menu (please advise us when making reservations of any dietary restrictions or special needs). |
Deluxe lodging is available in various combinations: Queen bed with a shared bath, or with a private bath, or a suite with a private bath. A one night deposit is required at the time the reservation is made. A 50% refund will be given with 7 days notice and a 90% refund will be given with 30 days notice. While we are a smoke-free inn, smoking is allowed outside on the grounds and we have a gorgeous sitting area right beside the creek. As for dogs: well behaved ones are more than welcome. The River's Edge Bed & Breakfast at Dodgeton Creek Inn offer several rooms and suites, most with private baths, some with kitchenettes, some with sitting areas. There is also a common kitchen and living room. On a regular basis, Dodgeton Creek Inn is fully reserved for 2-and-3-day Artist Workshops with folks staying in the rooms and classes being held in the studios on the third floor (our studio is large enough for up to 15 artists per class). These workshops are led by Tim Deibler and are focused on using oils to capture the endless variety of almost unnoticed beauty in nature. If interested, give us a call.
We have also been known to host golf tournaments at Grandote Peaks Golf Course (9 miles away in La Veta) in season. We also manage a condo at Cuchara Mountain Resort and offer short term accommodations there: 2 bed/1 bath at Aspen Leaf Village for $125 to $150 per night, depending on the season. And it looks like Cuchara Mountain Resort may be open again in the summer of 2011, resurrected as the Cuchara Mountain Resort Redevelopment and overseen by the Cuchara Valley Recreational Foundation. Long term stays, large parties or special catering opportunities are available upon request. And all the amenities, night life and Colorado mountain charm of downtown Cuchara is just steps away... How to get here: Located on the banks of Dodgeton Creek near the Cuchara River, we are right behind the famous Dog Bar on the right side of the block-long Village of Cuchara. Cuchara is accessed via the Scenic Highway of Legends, which begins in either Trinidad or Walsenburg (your choice). From Walsenburg go west 11 miles on US 160, then 17 miles southwest on State Highway 12. From Trinidad go 37 miles northwest on Highway 12. Coming from the west on US 160, turn south at the well-posted turn for La Veta and go southwest on Highway 12, 17 miles to Cuchara.
