Encino is a small village on the eastern side of Torrance County in central New Mexico. The village was founded on a railroad siding on the Belen Cutoff, the major east-west railroad line across northern New Mexico. US Highways 60 and 285 also intersect at Encino. This is farming and cattle ranching country on the high plains.
