Pecos, New Mexico

Pecos is a small village located on the Pecos River just south of the Pecos Wilderness in Santa Fe National Forest. Pecos is growing because it is within reasonable commuting distance of Santa Fe, about half-an-hour to the west. The Pecos Pueblo area of Pecos National Historic Park is to the southeast of town while the Glorieta Pass section of the Park (Civil War battlefield) is to the west. Pecos Benedictine Monastery and the Lisboa Springs Trout Hatchery are to the north.
