The Pecos River Corridor Recreation Area stretches out along the Pecos River from just north of Loving to areas surrounding Red Bluff Reservoir on the New Mexico-Texas state line. Included is a public boat ramp on the New Mexico side of the reservoir, just east of US 285 on CR 276.
The Corridor allows for semi-primitive motorized and water-based recreation. The 6,000 acres of BLM land in the corridor are intermingled with private and state land, so be aware of fences and property lines, etc. The property is open year round and there are no fees. Hiking, backpacking, camping and fishing are allowed. Pack it in, Pack it out rules apply. Maps: BLM - Carlsbad |
