The 6 mile Pole Creek Trail rises into the southern Wet Mountains and is rated as hard. The trail sees most traffic in the summer and fall.
Access: The upper trailhead is on Forest Road 369 (the Greenhorn Mountain Road). The lower trailhead is off of Forest Road 630, an access road that comes north off of State Road 69 just north of Gardner. The upper trailhead is shared with the Cisneros Trail and the lower trailhead with the Horse Ranch Trail. Notes: This trail follows Pole Creek through some gorgeous pine and aspen country in the southwestern Wet Mountains. Big views, lots of wildlife, great rock formations, hardly any people...
