Pike National Forest

This moderately difficult, 2 mile trail leads to a beautful 250'-300' waterfall cascading over a granite wall. The trail sees traffic all year round.
Access: In Colorado Springs, take either Cheyenne Mountain Road or 26th Street to North Cheyenne Canyon Road to Gold Camp Road. The trailhead is about 1 mile past the intersection of Gold Camp Road, North Cheyenne Canyon Road and High Drive on Gold Camp Road. Notes: In addition to the beautiful waterfall is a great view of Colorado Springs and the Broadmoor area. I don't know how the fishing is but you can watch trout swimming in the stream. Camping is allowed but be 300' from the trail and the stream. You don't need a permit for a campfire but the responsibility is yours if you light one up. Pack it in, pack it out. Unless you enjoy backcountry water, bring your own. USGS Maps: Manitou Springs, Mt. Big Chief |
