Rawah Trail #961

The Rawah Trail is about 13.6 miles long (one way) and is rated as Most Difficult.

    Elevations:
  • Beginning Elevation: 8,380'
  • Peak Elevation: 11,470'

Trailhead Location: From Fort Collins take Highway 14 west 61 miles. Turn north onto Laramie River Road and travel 13 miles. The parking area is on the east side of the road and the trail begins there.

Trail Information: This trail goes into the Rawah Wilderness. The first part of this trail can be boggy near where it crosses the Laramie River. This trail provides access to some beautiful lakes including Rawah Lakes numbers one through four, Upper and Lower Sandbar Lakes, and Twin Crater Lakes. The trail eventually runs into the West Branch Trail.

Campsites must be at least 200 feet from water and campfires are not allowed above treeline.
