McIntyre Creek Trail #967

McIntyre Creek Trail #967 is about 8.5 miles long (one way), is seldom used and is rated as Most Difficult.

Trailhead Location: The access to this trail is via the McIntrye Trail #966. Take Colorado Highway 14 west of Fort Collins for 60 miles and turn north onto Laramie River Road (County Road 103). Travel 16 miles along Laramie River Road, turn left onto the Glendevey Road and travel another three miles. Follow the McIntrye Trail nine miles to Ute Pass. The Medicine Bow intersects the trail near Ute Pass, then turn south.

The McIntyre Creek Trail is within the Rawah Wilderness. The views are spectacular as the trail climbs steadily to the McIntyre Ponds. The trail then climbs very steeply up the face of the Medicine Bow Range, coming out on the top ridge at the Medicine Bow Trail. This is an extremely steep ascent. Camping near the ponds is a good option.

Campsites must be at least 200 feet away from any water sources, and fires are not allowed above treeline.
