The Doe Creek Trail is about 3.2 miles long (one way), is rated as More Difficult and sees its heaviest use from June to November (open year round).
USGS Maps: Strawberry Lake and Shadow Mountain Quads Trailhead Location: From Granby take U.S. Highway 34 north, turn onto County Road 6 (Forest Service Road, FSR 125 or Arapaho Bay Road). Follow this road for about three miles. The trailhead is on the right. This trail starts out on an old jeep trail through an aspen grove and a meadow. Go right at the fork in the trail up a hill leading to another meadow lined with aspen. Follow the trail through the meadow and then up into a lodgepole forest. This trailhead is in the Arapaho National Recreation Area (ANRA), which requires either paying a day-use fee or displaying your golden passport on the dashboard of your vehicle. |
