Sun Valley Resort
Sun Valley, Idaho

Sun Valley offers two good ski mountains: Dollar, a beginner's paradise with exquisitely groomed slopes, and Baldy, which many serious skiers consider to be America's single best ski mountain. These are the Sawtooth Mountains, overflowing with fine, light powder. Steep chutes, long cruisers, mogul runs, big bumps, incredibly varied terrain, Sun Valley has it all. There are lots of snowshoe trails and 40 kilometers of well-groomed cross-country trails, too.

Sun Valley Resort is about 1 mile up the hill above Ketchum, Idaho, about 3 hours east of Boise.
