Looking back at Window Rock (from the south). If you are going through these pages and comparing photos, notice that the south side of the hills is more stark and exposed than the north sides. And look at the size of these aspens, they may not be tall but the trunks are definitely thick: must be some decent water flow through here. Notice that the road is in pretty good shape. When I was looking for the northern entrances to Shelf Road, I noticed they were "sign challenged" (I didn't see anything that said "Shelf Road"). I wondered if that was purposeful, as in: someone was creating a lack of signage as a means of diverting traffic away from the famous Shelf Road. |
