Shelf Road Part 2

This is looking south from just below Window Rock. Looking at that stand of spruce going up that couloir makes me think it wouldn't be too hard for someone with even my poor skills to make it to the top of that ridge without much trouble. However, when I look closer I can see all that loose talus in that couloir under the trees. That complicates things. That talus is probably what allowed those trees to get a foothold on that slope but that doesn't mean the trees have given the talus any stability. And that solid rock going up across the center of the photo doesn't look too bad but going up is one thing, coming down I like to see where I'm putting my feet and hands and there's lots of small vertical sections all the way through it. But this is an area where there's lots to play with while you hone your craft...
