Wonder of wonders: there's a "land for sale" sign on the side of the road. I think it includes this valley and the remains of that homestead out there. Some nice stands of cottonwood, willows, cedars, good grass, I'll bet there's a pretty price on this... but it's gorgeous. Update: that old homestead is actually what remains of the toll booth at the southern end of the original Shelf Road Toll Road. Notice that Shelf Road is still hugging the hillside, well above the stream bed. That means there's most likely no winter maintenance (read: snow plowing) in here. So part of the value of this property includes real solitude for a good part of the year. |
