Shelf Road Part 1

This is looking back up at the south side of that pillar of granite next to Window Rock. There's some pretty good crevice and shelf to work with over here, too, but you'll need to get up this slope to the bottom of the granite face just to begin. For all you free-climbers in the crowd, going straight up the pillar looks to be about 5.3 to 5.7 in difficulty, depending on how you deal with the overhangs. It looks like it could be fun but I don't think I'm ready for something like this yet. On the left of the photo is that rock rib rising on the west side of the road.
