This easy, 3.5 mile trail parallels the South Platte River and offers some good opportunities for fishing in an excellent trout stream. The trail may be used heavily at all times of the year.
Access: From Lake George, take the Tarryall Road north and turn to Happy Meadows Campground. Continue past the campground for about 1 mile to the trailhead, just before the gate to Sportsmen's Paradise. Notes: This trail follows the Platte River down into a rocky, steep and very picturesque canyon. Lots of fishing but no camping: too close to the river and the excellent fishery.
