The Craig Park Trail is a connector trail between the Ben Tyler Trail and the Brookside - McCurdy Trail. The 6 miles of the Craig Park Trail are easy, once you get to either end of the trail. Craig Park Trail sees its heaviest use in summer and fall.
Access: Follow the Ben Tyler Trail to its junction with the Craig Park Trail and turn right, or follow the Brookside - McCurdy Trail to its junction with the Craig Park Trail and turn right. Either way, this is beautiful countryside, but the view down over Craig Park from the ridge just above the Ben Tyler Trail turnoff... it'll knock your socks off. Notes: The Craig Park Trail is in a high mountain valley between the Platte River Mountains and the Kenosha Mountains. The trail parallels Craig Creek on the north side and allows for some great brook trout fishing. There are good campsites along the edge of the trees for nearly the whole length of Craig Park. This is totally within the Lost Creek Wilderness so wilderness rules and regs apply. USGS Maps: Topaz Mountain, Shawnee, Mount Logan |
