In addition to being Colorado's premier public small college, Adams State College has been named the Regional Education Provider for southern Colorado. Four Adams State College academic programs have Program of Excellence Awards from the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. Since its cornerstone was laid in 1925, Adams State College grew from a teachers' college into a fine liberal arts college. Adams State was recently designated the Regional Education Provider for southern Colorado. Today, students can earn a bachelor's degree in any of 16 majors, with 28 minors and emphases. The close-knit campus and friendly community create a supportive environment that fosters success.
