Access: Located in the Big Lake Recreation Area, about 25 miles south of Springerville, on State Road 273. Elevation: 9,040' Grayling Campground is open from mid-May through September. With campsites scattered through the mixed conifer and aspen forest, Grayling Campground offers the most secluded campsites in the Big Lake Complex. Because of the elevation, nighttime temperatures can range from cool to cold. July and August can bring heavy thundershowers. Big Lake offers lots of fishing, boating, camping, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, bird and wildlife watching, and just plain old picnicking opportunities. And the Mt. Baldy Wilderness is pretty close by. Facilities:
