Access: 2 miles north of Alpine on US 191, turn west onto Forest Road 249. Go west on the gravel for 5 miles, then turn south on Forest Road 276 and go 6 miles to the East Fork of the Black River developed camping areas. Elevation: 7,890' Camping season is usually from May through October. Diamond Rock Campground sports 3-sided (Adirondack-style) shelters built back in Civilian Conservation Corps days. This is another very popular, near-riverside campground with small sites available first come, first served. Facilities:
