Chevelon Lake Campground

Access: From the south, turn off State Highway 260 onto Forest Road 300 (across from the Rim Visitor Information Station) and go north to Forest Road 169. From the north, follow Forest Road 34 south to Forest Road 504, then continue south on 504 to Forest Road 169. Once on FR 169, follow it to FR 169B, then turn east and follow FR 169B to the campground.

Elevation: 6,800'

Season is generally May to October.

Chevelon Lake offers great fishing but is 3/4 mile down the hill from the campground. In a mixed forest of juniper, pinon and Ponderosas, Chevelon Lake Campground is only modestly developed. Chevelon Canyon offers great views and lots of hiking opportunities.
